  1. Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife

Mughal emperor shah Jahan had built Taj Mahal in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz was giving birth to the child of emperor, and she died in the process. This was happen in 1631. The emperor is very depressed on her death, and decided to build a memorable structure name Taj Mahal for her beloved wife.

The construction of this wonder was begun in 1632 and completed in 1653. It took almost 22 years to complete this outstanding piece of architecture. At that time, the estimated cost was about Rs. 32 million. It is a huge amount of money at that time used to construct this kind of love symbol.

The architect name Ahmed Lahori was the designer of Taj Mahal. He put more than twenty thousand people into building the Taj Mahal. In this counting all the labors, stonecutters, embroidery artists and many others were included. Even animals have played a vital role in the construction of this Mahal like elephants and horses.

White marble is used in majority to construct it. But not only white marble, more than 25 different types of precious stones were also used in construction. The white marble was brought from Rajasthan, Afghanistan, Tibet and from some other places.

The Taj Mahal in one of the world’s most symmetrical structures. It has all four sides perfectly identical. It has one large tomb with two small tombs.   1. Shah Jahan was not allowed to enter the Taj Mahal

Almost nine years before the death of Shah Jahan, he fell gravely ill. When Shah Jahan unexpectedly recovered, it was too late. Two of his sons name Dara and Aurangzeb, had begun fighting. Shah Jahan sided with Dara, but he is defeated and killed by Aurangzeb. Shah Jahan was not allowed to visit the Taj Mahal for the remainder of his life.
